[Commlist] New Book: Introduction aux Théories des jeux vidéo

Thu Jun 29 21:36:40 GMT 2023

*New Book : « Introduction aux Théories des jeux vidéo » (Presses Universitaires de Liège, coll. Jeu/Play/Spiel)*

Edited by Sébastien GENVO (Université de Lorraine) and Thibault PHILIPPETTE (Université catholique de Louvain)

This book fills a gap in the French-language literature: the existence of a reference guide for anyone wishing to learn about the various aspects of video game research. Designed to provide the reader with keys to understanding the main aspects of the field, the many chapters are summaries that also aim to open up perspectives for further reflection. All the contributions have been written by recognised specialists in the subjects covered, with a view to ensuring accessibility. This book is therefore aimed at anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of the issues at stake in an industry that is now at the heart of the digital age and contemporary leisure activities, and which is also opening up to a wide range of sectors (journalism, health, training, sport, etc.): students, professionals (journalists, designers, etc.), teachers, parents, institutions and also players themselves. All in all, this book is an ideal companion for anyone wishing to explore the vast expanses of video game theory.
