[Commlist] Studies in Comics 13.1-2 published

Tue Jun 13 21:43:22 GMT 2023

Intellect is pleased to announce that Studies in Comics 13.1-2 is out now!

Taken together, this issue’s content pushes at the boundaries of what might be considered comics: by considering the medium’s relationships with other media, deconstructing its history, iconography and traditions, and exploring the processes, places and influences that underpin its creation.

Aims & Scope

Studies in Comicsaims to describe the nature of comics, to identify the medium as a distinct art form and to address the medium's formal properties. The emerging field of comics studies is a model for interdisciplinary research and this peer-reviewed journal welcomes all approaches and methodologies. Its specific goal, however, is to expand the relationship between comics and theory and to seek to articulate a 'theory of comics'.

This title is indexed with Scopus and the Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI).
