CFP: abstracts

Conference: Third International Conference on Visual Methods in Social Sciences, University of La Laguna – Tenerife (Spain), 15-17 Nov 2023

Deadline for abstracts: 23 February 2023

Organisers: Visual Modi—The International Association for Research in Visual and Multimodal Methods, created following the two previous conferences, and The University of La Laguna.

The first two international conferences on Visual Methods in the Social Sciences were held in 2018 and 2021, focusing on the themes of communication, data, methods, results and valorisation. A partial publication of the proceedings of the first international conference is available online through Revista Latina de Comunicacion Social: https://www.revistalatinacs.org/18SLCS/libro-colectivo-2018-2.html The forthcoming publication of a book by a scientific publisher should allow participants to develop their work presented at the second conference. Fifteen research groups and scientific partners from five different countries and three continents have formed a network and decided, at the end of the 2018 conference, to organise this third conference in 2023.

The conference is open to all disciplines, and participants are invited to present visual approaches using design as a research method. A more limited selection is also possible around creating visual or audiovisual content around the notion of design.

The researcher can pave the way for experimentation or presentation and/or data analysis methodologies that are more easily transferable, more easily accessible, but also more transparent (because they are more open) and reproducible, which can open up fruitful interdisciplinary perspectives. This call for papers covers all of these aspects.

All information is available in Spanish, French and English on the conference website at https://methodesvis2023.sciencesconf.org/ <https://methodesvis2023.sciencesconf.org/>
