We are really pleased to announce the publication of the openly access
special issue *Internet Research Ethics in the Platform Society:
Theoretical Reflections, Research Experiences, and Open Questions* of
the journal *Comunicazioni Sociali. Journal of Media, Performing Arts
and Cultural Studies*
The full articles are available in gold open access at the following link >>

The special issue (see the table of contents below) offers an insightful
journey into some of the most relevant issues of internet and social
media research ethics, such as privacy, informed consent, harm
minimization - for both informants and researchers -, contextual
integrity, applied to challenging situations, like small data, Instagram
live, antagonistic social media groups. The special issue sheds also
light on the importance of considering the contextual situation of the
research and the awareness of researchers about ethics comparing the
perspective of different countries.
We hope that the special issue can be useful for researchers but also
for students and doctoral candidates.
Kind regards
