*EU-funded PhD opportunity in South Africa in Wine Science Communication*

We are looking for a full-time PhD student to join our three-year 
‘Eco2Wine’ Doctoral Network Programme, starting in 2024. This research 
programme will focus on closing the gap between microbiomics, winemakers 
and the public. Wine microbiomics aims to use the microbial biodiversity 
naturally associated with healthy vines and vineyards as a tool for 
innovation in winemaking, to produce sustainable, eco-friendly wines 
while improving vineyard management and offering consumers a broader 
choice of wines. The student will be based at Stellenbosch University in 
South Africa, but will also spend time with project partners in other
