First International Research Seminar on Communication, Sports, and
Media at Tuiuti University, Brazil
We invite you to attend the Ist International Research Seminar on
Communication, Sports, and Media, held by the Media, Technology and
Daily Life Research Group (M.TeC) of the University Tuiuti do Paraná,
through its Research Group on Communication, Sports, and Media (GP100).
For this inaugural edition, we've asked four scholars with relevant
backgrounds in the field of communication and sports to discuss the
developments in their work and share their perspectives on how sports
phenomena relate to media environments, particularly contemporary
technology.
Programming (Brazil Time, -3 GMT):
27th October, 10am = Pedro Marra (Federal University of Espírito Santo),
"Sound and Violence in Football: sonic politics and fan practices" (in
Portuguese).
18th November, 2pm = Renan Petersen-Wagner (Leeds Beckett University),
"Sport in the Platform Society" (in Portuguese)
24th November, 10am = Daniel Nolleke (German Sport University Cologne),
"From core to periphery? The changing role of sports journalism in
digital media landscapes" (in English)
1st December, 10am = Mark Doidge (University of Brighton), "Online Hate
Football" (in English)
Professor Marcio Telles (PPGCOM/UTP) and guest professor Rolando
Ferreira Jr (UTP) will present the talks.
The lectures are free of charge and no prior registration is required.
