Research Lead in School of Communication and Media at the University of 
New York in Prague

The School of Communication and Media at the University of New York in 
Prague (UNYP) seeks applicants for a full-time research position. The 
School is committed to increasing research output, and applicants would 
be expected to work independently on research published with the 
institution, and mentor colleagues. The position is full-time for 12 
months, renewable.

UNYP is a small, highly diverse, private higher education institution, 
about to celebrate 25 years since inception. It is a Czech accredited 
institution with American partners, the language of instruction is English.

Job description:

* produces original research publications in the context of the school 
research framework with exclusive UNYP affiliation. Target: two 
publications accepted for publication per year.
* provides active support, advising, assistance, and, if appropriate, 
training, to faculty in the area of research
* cooperates closely with, and supports/contributes to efforts of, the 
Research Manager and Dean of Research on grant initiatives
* informs Dean of Research on progress in increasing school publications 
when requested, and contributes to reports regarding this
* participates in, and helps organize, research-related activities (e.g. 
School colloquia, school conference and/or seminars)

Applicants should fit this profile:

* a PhD in the area of communication and media studies or related field
* a solid record of scholarship in the field, with a track record of 
research published in peer reviewed journals
* a willingness and ability to mentor junior faculty
* experience in writing grant applications and/or managing grants
* comfortable and familiar with European communication and media studies 
research and education
* fluency in English, ability to work in the Czech and Central European 
environment

Please note this is locally advertised position. UNYP does not pay 
relocation fees, nor assist with settlement. Remuneration is locally 
competitive in the area of higher education.
