The Leicester Media School in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and
Media, De Montfort University, is seeking to appoint *two*lecturers in
*Media and Communication*. The successful candidates will contribute to
undergraduate teaching, enhance and expand our postgraduate provision,
and support research activities

Both positions are permanent, full-time appointments
Post 1: M&C MDC*(sprice /at/ dmu.ac.uk)*
Post 1: (teaching requirements) we are particularly keen to appoint
candidates with the skills to teach theoretical and practical modules
focused on creative digital media design and production, preferably
including web design. Broader understanding of issues in Media and
Communication is also helpful
Post 1: (research requirements) the appointee work closely with the
Director of the Media Discourse Centre and will hold, or will be about
to complete, a PhD in media or a closely associated field, and will have
produced outputs on media, communication, political discourse and/or
related topics (e.g. social justice movements, feminist media studies,
digital media, and political discourse). Expertise in Media Discourse
and transnational social movements is especially welcome
Post 2: M&C MCRC*(smills /at/ dmu.ac.uk)*
Post 2: (teaching requirements) we are particularly keen to appoint
candidates with the skills to teach critical and cultural approaches to
games and potentially other forms of digital media. Broader
understanding of issues in Media and Communication is also helpful
Post 2 (research requirements) In terms of research, the appointee will
work closely with the Director of the Media and Culture Research Centre
to reinforce the public profile of the Centre, the School, and the wider
Faculty. The successful candidate will hold, or will be about to
complete, a PhD in media or a closely associated field. We are seeking a
candidate with expertise in the broad research field of cultural and
critical approaches to media.
