The Department of Literature, Film, and Theatre Studies (LiFTS) at the 
University of Essex is an exciting, interdisciplinary department where 
theory and practice are combined across a range of disciplines, from 
creative writing to theatre, literature, filmmaking and journalism.Our 
vibrant and growing BA Multimedia Journalism course was launched in 
October 2015, followed by the introduction of several joint degrees. The 
BA Multimedia Journalism is NCTJ and BJTC accredited.*The Department has

*Senior Lecturer in Multimedia Journalism (permanent, full time)*

The successful candidate will havean established profile as a researcher 
in the area of Journalism and recent, senior experience of practice 
within the profession of journalism, with an ability to lead a diverse 
team and develop journalism as a subject area in both practical and 
research-led directions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

*Lecturer in Multimedia Journalism (0.5 FTE, fixed-term for one year)*

The post-holder will teach on existing modules across the range of the 
curriculum, with a particular emphasis on the practical skills 
associated with the modern multimedia newsroom. Broad knowledge and 
experience of multimedia journalism will be essential, while an and 
experience of teaching towards the NCTJ exams and/or awareness of the 
NCTJ syllabus would be desirable.
