[Commlist] Conference "Media and the Night / Les médias et la nuit"

We are happy to announce the conference/Media and the Night / Les médias et la nuit/, which will be held on March 18 and 19, 2022. This interdisciplinary event will be held over Zoom. It is open to the public and free of charge.

It will feature presentations by speakers from seven countries, in English and French. The many topics to be covered include night-time journalism, representations of the night in contemporary art, queer nostalgia in relation to night-time culture, the aesthetic dimensions of electrical illumination, wildlife data, and music-focused communities of the night.

This event is made possible by the generosity of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the McGill University (James McGill Professor program), the Yan P. Lin Centre, the Moving Image Research Lab, and the University of Virginia.
