*University of Ghana Department of Communication Studies – Faculty 
Positions in *

  * Multimedia journalism
  * Strategic communication

The Department of Communication Studies runs graduate programmes in 
Communication Studies at the Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy and 
Doctor of Philosophy levels. We combine a rich tradition of 
industry-oriented teaching and deep scholarly grounding in training the 
next generation of communication practitioners, researchers, scholars, 
activists etc.

We seek highly driven and innovative faculty members to teach courses in 
Multimedia Journalism and Strategic Communication.

  * Successful candidates for Multimedia Journalism should be able to
    combine theory and practical experience to teach courses that
    prepare students to work in converged newsrooms serving multimedia
    platforms. Courses to be taught include investigative journalism,
    news reporting and writing, documentary projection etc.

  * Successful candidates for Strategic Communication must be able to
    teach courses such as public relations, advertising, integrated
    marketing communications and digital communication. Candidates must
    demonstrate both theoretical grounding and industry experience.**

  * *Other requirements*

Candidates must also

  * hold a PhD in communication or related disciplines from an
    accredited institution.
  * be able to teach core communication courses such as Communication
    Theories and Models, Communication Research, and Ethics.
  * be able to supervise and examine graduate student dissertations and
    projects.
  * have an established record of, or potential for scholarly productivity.

  * be ready to take up an offer of appointment before December 31^st
    2022*.*
  * be ready to stay in Ghana for the period of the contract*.*

*Remuneration*

The salary and conditions of service for the position are similar to 
what pertains in Ghanaian Public Universities.
