VII Congress on Communication, Journalism and Public Sphere  - The 
Transformations of the Public Sphere – 60 years after the work 
Strukturwandel der Öffentlichkeit

Coimbra - Portugal


The congress accepts proposals for communications from different 
scientific areas that aim to reflect the transformations of contemporary 
public space.

The date for the call for communications for the VII Congress of 
Communication, Journalism and Public Space “The transformations of the 
Public Sphere – 60 years after the work Strukturwandel der 
Öffentlichkeit has been extended to March 23, 2022.

Guest lecturers: João Pissarra Esteves (New University of Lisbon) Karin 
Wahl-Jorgensen (Cardiff University) Philip Schlesinger (University of 
Glasgow) Rousiley Maia (University of Minas Gerais) Slavko Splichal 
(University of Ljubljana) Cláudia Álvares (ISCTE - University Institute 
of Lisbon) João Carlos Correia (University of Beira Interior) Marisa 
Torres da Silva (New University of Lisbon) Moisés de Lemos Martins 
(University of Minho) Paulo Serra (University of Beira Interior) Rosa 
Cabecinhas (University of Minho.

The organization is planning to publish the texts resulting from the 
communications in an international edition, in English. The congress 
will take place on the 13th, 14th and 15th of July 2022, in Coimbra - 
Portugal and is the result of a partnership between CEIS20 – Center of 
Interdisciplinary Studies – University of Coimbra; Faculty of Arts and 
Humanities – University of Coimbra; Nucleus for Research in Social and 
Human Sciences of the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute 
of Coimbra, with the support of SOPCOM (Portuguese Association of 
Communication Sciences).
