[Commlist] Visiting lecturer opportunity at City, University of London

The Department of Sociology at City, University of London, is seeking to
appoint a Visiting Lecturer to lead and deliver a postgraduate module
entitled Applied Qualitative Research Methods*.***The module covers two
qualitative methods in depth over the course of one term, with an
emphasis on learning by doing, and the majority of teaching time is
devoted to workshops and seminars. The module coversethnographyand
ethnographic methods,andcreative methods for textual practice, but there
is scope for interchanging these with other topics, depending on the
expertise of the candidate.
Delivery will occur next term (January to April 2022) and will have a
face to face and online components. Learning activities include
lectures,seminarsand workshops.
The hourly rate will depend on your experience and qualifications, which
will determine your grade and spine point.A PhD is normally required to
teach at postgraduate level. For instance, we offer £28.54 per hour
(including holiday pay) at the bottom of Grade 7. Lectures, seminars and
labs are all paid at a multiplier of 2.5. We also pay for weekly office
hours (x 1.0), module coordination (x 1.0), and marking (x 1.0, 30
minutes per student).
