[Commlist] Launch of Code of Conduct for Conflict Sensitive Reporting in South Asia

Wed Nov 24 13:38:05 GMT 2021

Greetings on behalf of IAMCR's Journalism Research & Education Section!

JRE team is delighted to share the Code of Conduct on Conflict Sensitive Reporting in South Asia. This project has been facilitated by Public Media Alliance (PMA), UNESCO's South Asia Cluster Office (New Delhi) and Media Action Nepal.

The participants – from journalists to academics and editors – have worked collaboratively to develop a regionally relevant Code of Conduct that will act as a strategy document to advise journalists and media workers across the region on how they can cover pertinent areas in an informed, fair, and safe manner.

The final Code of Conduct has been edited by Dr. Sadia Jamil, Mr. Laxman Datt Pant and Mrs. Sally-Ann - with the generous support of Jasmine Chandler (PMA) and Desilon Daniels (PMA).

Translation of the Code in selected South Asian languages shall be available soon.
