_Step 2_: once project is agreed, submit PhD application to De Montfort

_Step 3_: the final deadline for Midlands Four Cities applications, is
noon on *12**^th**January 2022*.
*M4C Background*
The AHRC-funded M4C scheme ‘brings together eight leading universities
across the Midlands to support the ... next generation of arts and
humanities doctoral researchers’.
[Universities: Birmingham, Birmingham City, Coventry, De Montfort,
Leicester, Nottingham, Nottingham Trent, and Warwick].
This year, for 2021/22 entry, M4C is awarding up to *89 PhD***places for
UK and International applicants plus *21 *Collaborative Doctoral Awards
(CDA).
*MDC Research*
The Media Discourse Centre (*MDC*) at De Montfort is calling for
*expressions of interest*. _Include_: name, contact email, title of
proposal, paragraph on the project, paragraph on theoretical and
methodological stance, current CV.
MDC is ‘renowned for its strong focus on the global dimension of public
events, culture and politics’, and its devotion to ‘the_critical
analysis_of the contemporary social order’.
MDC has a dozen current PhDs and offers dedicated research space within
the (socially distanced!) Centre: research focusses on a number key
areas, evident in our recent publications (scroll down). These include,
