Fri Oct 08 17:17:57 GMT 2021

Liverpool John Moores University are seeking a full time, permanent Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Media, Culture and Communication.

The School of Humanities and Social Science is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in the Media, Culture and Communication subject area. The School has an excellent track record in producing high quality research and a supportive and innovative teaching and learning experience for our students; as evidenced by NSS overall satisfaction rates of 95% in 2020. Our Media, Culture and Communication subject area offers a vibrant undergraduate degree in Media, Culture, Communication, with an optional foundation year, and an MA in Mass Communications alongside a growing portfolio of international HE franchise partners.

We are now looking to strengthen our staffing base by recruiting an exceptional person to our team and this is a great opportunity to be part of a growing social science offering as we build an identity within the wider School of Humanities and Social Science around the interrelated themes of ‘People, Politics and Communication’. This new section will see our Media, Culture and Communication, Sociology, and International Relations and Politics degree areas working collaboratively on research ambitions and strengthening the cross-disciplinary curriculum offer to our students. This is an exciting time for a high quality individual with a strong teaching background, commitment to the student experience and an impactful research track record and agenda to join us and shape the future of the school and the social sciences.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer able to teach on a number of theoretical and critical modules in the Media, Culture and Communication subject area, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We would particularly welcome applicants with research and teaching specialisms that cover digital and social media to enhance our existing provision. You will be able to deliver across our foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degree areas and have the energy and vision to forge links with other subject areas in the social science area. You will have a PhD in the discipline area and the research and teaching attributes to fulfil the role to the highest standard.

Full details are at the link below, and the closing date is 14^th October:
