The positions are affiliated with thePLATFORM<https://www.hf.uio.no/imv/english/research/projects/platform/index.html>project, which asks how contemporary platforms of music production are developed in the online context, andwhat their significance are for music making.

Candidates for the Doctoral and Post-Doctoral research fellowships are warmly encouraged to apply and participate in the exploration of these key issues of current music culture.

The announcements are available here, with application deadline 18 October: https://www.hf.uio.no/imv/english/about/vacancies/index.html <https://www.hf.uio.no/imv/english/about/vacancies/index.html>

Expected start-up date is 1 May 2022.

The project is particularly concerned with how digital audio workstations (DAWs), such as Logic Pro and Bandlab, evolve in the online context, and how these platforms and their networked clusters of programs and services are reshaping the foundations of creative audio work, including composition, performance, and collaboration.

The hypothesis is that the developers of DAW technology, as well as their various user groups, are all involved in a platformization process that has profound cultural, social, and economic ramifications for the music sector.

Do not hesitate to contact the project leader, Yngvar Kjus, for information about the positions and the project (email: (yngvar.kjus /at/ imv.uio.no)).
