This year the BFIMedia Conference for teachers is smaller, neater and online. Its unique combination of industry, research and teaching strands offers support and inspiration to teachers of Film Studies, Media Studies and English at A level.

A delegate pass buys unique individual access to the conference platform for a year: join us live for one or two days, combine attending live sessions with watching session recordings, or save the whole thing to enjoy and/or use with students at a later date.

The programme includes:

·Special Focus sessions: Henry Jenkins discusses Textual Poachers, and Diversifying Film & Media Education invites teachers to contribute to a new action research project for autumn 2021.

·Teaching sessions: Exciting ideas for exploring and deepening learning around Media Theory; Silent film; Social & Participatory media; Short film; Textual analysis; Representation; Production skills.

·Industry sessions: Bisha K. Ali (screenwriter, Ms Marvel, Four Weddings and a Funeral); Ronan Bennett (Top Boy); Moo Yu (gameplay designer, Foam Sword Games); Harjeet Chhokar (factual commissioner, Channel 4); Sarah Martinez (marketing, Entertainment OneUK) on the marketing campaign for Blinded by the Light; research update from the BBFC; the UK Film Industry 2020-21 in statistics.

·Partner sessions: Into Film <https://www.intofilm.org/> (Chevonne James on encouraging diverse perspectives in practical filmmaking); ScreenSkills <https://www.screenskills.com/> (Margaret Burgin looks at career starters and industry recruitment); the English & Media Centre <https://www.englishandmedia.co.uk/> (a ‘Media Theory Booster Shot’ from Julian McDougall); the Media Education Association <https://www.themea.org.uk/> (Steve Connolly and Michelle Thomason focus on ‘Getting Media and Film Teachers Heard’).

·Exam Specification Support Sessions: AQAMedia,OCRFilm&Media,WJECEduqas Film andWJEC Eduqas Film.

The conference also offers delegates a month’s free access toBFI Player.
