We have a three-year research associate post available at the University
of York to work on a new project which seeks to develop the screen and
related industries in Yorkshire. Please circulate to anyone you think
may be interested.
Creative Media Research and Knowledge Exchange Hub (Creat:KE), is an
exciting new 3-year research project led by the University of York. The
aim is to enhance Yorkshire and the Humber’s screen-related industries
(film, television, games, XR and other digital media) through a
collaborative industry and higher education partnership focusing on
diversity and inclusion; knowledge exchange; skills and training; and
research about the development of the creative industries.
The role of the Research Associate will be to undertake research which:
supports the needs of the region’s screen-related industries; enhances
Creat:KE’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, knowledge exchange and
skills development; and advances our understanding of the creative
industries. This will be achieved by undertaking primary and secondary
research, synthesising existing scholarship, identifying best practice
and working with partner universities to identify research needs. You
will support the delivery of research commissioning activity including
theme identification, funding call design and evaluation of research
proposals.
You will also undertake the writing up of research results and
dissemination through publications, seminar and conference presentations
and public engagement and outreach activities
A critical understanding of the creative industries will be key in this
role and the post would suit someone with a background in business and
management studies, human geography, sociology, film and TV studies, or
similar disciplines.
