[Commlist] Post-Doctoral research posts for ERC project on Film Studios

The European Research Council Advanced Grant project *STUDIOTEC: Film
Studios in Britain, France, Germany and Italy, 1930-60* (PI Prof. Sarah
Street, University of Bristol) is now recruiting for four post-doctoral
research posts. The successful candidates will conduct primary
historical research on film studios including their architectures,
infrastructures, practices, professional and technical personnel. They
will work with the project’s other team members investigating how
artistic practices responded to transnational flows in film studio
expertise, comparing how studio spaces, practices, designs and technical
innovations changed over time. Applicants should hold a PhD in Film
Studies/History and/or field closely related to the project’s themesand
have specific linguistic skills that depend on each post. The full-time
posts are each for 3.5 years and are open to be filled by 1 March 2020
or at the successful candidates’ earliest availability. The postholders
will travel to archives and for team meetings and events associated with
the project. The four posts correspond with each country covered by the
project – Britain and Italy (two posts, University of Bristol); Germany
(one post, University of Southampton) and France (one post, Queen Mary,
University of London). *The **closing date for applications is 6
December 2019 (8 Dec for the Queen Mary post)*, with interviews to take
