you may have already seen this but wanted to make sure you know about
it: the University of Essex has recently advertised a Lectureship in
Political Theory:

The Department of Government
The Department of Government at Essex are world leaders in political
science, ranked top in the UK for research excellence (REF2014), 5th for

Centre for World University Rankings (2018), among the top 50
departments on the planet according to the QS World University Rankings.

The Department is now seeking to appoint an academic at the Lecturer level.
Duties of the Role
The post-holder is expected to conduct research and teaching in
Political Theory. They will supervise undergraduate projects, MA, and
PhD dissertations. In addition, the successful candidate will be
expected to generate research income, to contribute to the
administration and leadership responsibilities within the Department,
and to the local, regional and international profile of the Department.
Key responsibilities will include contributing to excellence in
education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching
and learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate leaves; and
engaging in individual and/ or collaborative research activity,
resulting in internationally excellent publications, that is in keeping
with REF criteria.

Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level research
degree in Political Science or will have equivalent professional
experience or practice or be close to completion of a PhD. They will be
a member of the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or have the
ability to gain this at an appropriate level within a defined period of
appointment.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate proven experience in teaching
at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels or demonstrable potential
to engage in teaching and learning support in higher education; evidence
of a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence
Framework (REF) programmes; and a sustained engagement in continuing
professional development in relevant subjects/disciplines and their
pedagogies.
This is a permanent, full-time role on an ASER (teaching and research)
contract.
