    Lecturer VC2020 in Journalism (10247)

The Leicester Media School in the Faculty of Technology, De Montfort 
University, wishes to appoint a VC2020 Lecturer (a role which combines 
teaching and research 50/50) to take a leading role in the development 
of undergraduate Journalism at DMU, and to make a contribution to the 
research culture of the School. Journalism provision at DMU (which 
scored 100% for overall satisfaction in the 2016 NSS) has grown 
steadily. New developments in Broadcast Journalism and other areas of 
journalistic practice, enhanced by a Masters degree in Investigative 
Journalism (run in partnership with Channel 4), have reinforced our high 
profile work in this popular field.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established subject team and 
research centre with an international reputation for teaching, research 
and collaboration. This post is being offered under the 
Vice-Chancellor's VC2020 scheme, which aims to enable individuals to 
grow and develop in their area of expertise in a fully supported 
teaching and research environment, with access to funding and 
development to enable them to progress along a teaching and research 
trajectory. This includes guaranteed initial ring-fenced time to develop 
research projects and outcomes (50 per cent in the first year).
