Tue Jun 21 13:25:25 GMT 2016

Applications are invited for a three-year full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the Dept. of Film and Television, University of Bristol, as part of a three-year AHRC-funded research project /The Eastmancolor Revolution and British Cinema, 1955-85/, directed by Professor Sarah Street, with Dr Keith M. Johnston (UEA) as Co-Investigator.

Salary: £31,656-35,609.

Funding duration of appointment: 1 Oct 2016 - 30 Sept 2019.

You will work full-time on the project which concentrates on British film history, colour films and their intermedial contexts, carrying out research in libraries and film archives, organising project events and designing the project website in collaboration with IT Services. You will also produce papers for publication, conduct interviews with practitioners and produce a video essay. This post represents an excellent opportunity for someone early in an academic career to be an important part of a high-profile project and to gain experience of conducting advanced archival research.

When applying, please also submit a brief description of your current research interests, and suitability for researching colour and colour cinema as outlined in the research project details provided in the further particulars. /Note that there is a second, three-year post-doctoral position for this project, based at the University of East Anglia. Applicants applying for the Bristol post can also apply for the UEA position; note that you need to make separate applications if you apply for both positions./
