[ecrea] Doha Institute for Graduate Studies: Two open rank positions (Journalism, Media&Cultural Studies)

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has two open positions.
Successful candidates will join the department of Media and Cultural
Studies. Positions are open rank in the fields of Journalism and
Media&Cultural Studies respectively. Full description and link below.

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) invites applications for an
open-rank position on the professorial scale in its new Journalism
Program, to be launched in the academic year 2017-18. The new program
will collaborate closely with the DI’s existing Media and Cultural
Studies Program.


            Qualification

Candidates must have a proven research record, teaching experience at
the graduate level, and professional background in journalism. The
successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in journalism/media
studies or a cognate field. She or he will be expected to contribute to
the teaching of the program’s core journalism courses: digital
journalism, investigative journalism, multimedia storytelling and
writing for new media. While English is recognized as a language of
learning and research in the DI, ability to teach in Arabic as needed is
a condition.

The appointment is to commence September 2016 or as soon as possible
thereafter. The search will continue until the positions are filled.

following fields is particularly welcome: communication theory, the
political economy of communication, visual communication, and/or
qualitative and quantitative research methods. While English is
recognized as a language of learning and research in the DI, ability to
teach in Arabic as needed is a condition.
