This is a Call for Proposals for the Media, Communication and Cultural
Studies Association Postgraduate Network conference 2016. The conference
will be held on the 7^th and 8^th July 2016 at the University of
Leicester, UK. The deadline to submit abstracts is midnight GMT on 8^th
March 2016.

Conference Theme:

New Directions in Media Research

This year’s conference theme seeks to explore the new directions in
media research as they are evolving through postgraduate research. More
specifically we welcome proposals that engage with the following broader
themes:

• Media and politics

• Research methods in media studies

• Journalism studies

• Media audiences

• Media and culture

• Digital media and society

• Advertising and public relations

• Media production, consumption and representation

Registration Information: There is a £35 registration fee, which
includes lunch and refreshments on both days, delegate packs, evening
meal on the Thursday, as well as a one nights accommodation on a first
come, first serve basis prioritizing those travelling from outside of
Leicester.

Key note speakers: Four key note speakers confirmed:

Professor Simon Cottle – Cardiff University

Dr Mirca Madianou – Goldsmiths University of London

Professor Mark Banks – University of Leicester

Dr Kaitlynn Mendes – University of Leicester

Workshop Sessions: A number of workshop sessions will be provided to the
delegates. More specifically the sessions will cover a range of topics
such as: how to be a successful PhD, Preparing for an academic
interview, organizing academic conferences, and coping with stress in
research.

Please submit an abstract of 300 words in English by March 8^th 2016 to
