*Media and Everyday Life Journal / Revista Mídia e Cotidiano – 9th
edition*

Communication, Power and Cyberspace

The consolidation of broadband technologies implies that, in various
fields of knowledge, we are now dealing with spaces which offer multiple
possibilities for achievements and encounters. This Call for Papers
invites submissions that explore issues such as: Internet governance;
the online regulation of relationships in people's daily lives;
processes of empowerment of minorities and marginalised groups through
social media; the contradictions about the democratic character of
cyberspace; the role that digital media play in social movements; and
nuanced approaches to digital activism. A full paper should be submitted
by *09 May 2016*. The /Media and Cotidiano/ (Media and Everyday Life)
Journal is a quarterly publication by Universidade Federal
Fluminense’s Postgraduate Program in Media and Everyday Life. We
welcome theoretical articles, articles based on empirical research, as
well as reviews of books published in Brazil and abroad.
