Tue Apr 05 14:43:13 GMT 2016

TheInstitute of Cultural Capital <http://iccliverpool.ac.uk/>(ICC) is a
pioneering cultural policy research institute in the UK, jointly hosted
by Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool. The
ICC is looking to appoint a suitably qualified Research Associate to
join a team of researchers working in collaboration withNational Museums
Liverpool <http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/>(NML), the umbrella
organisation for world-leading museum and gallery services including the
Walker Art Gallery, Merseyside Maritime Museum, International Slavery
Museum and the flagship Museum of Liverpool.

The Research Associate will make a significant contribution to research
on the value and impact of NML’s multiple award-winning dementia
awareness programme/House of Memories/
<http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/learning/projects/house-of-memories/index.aspx>.
Launched in 2012 and delivered to in excess of 10,000 health and social
care professionals and family and volunteer carers,/House of Memories/is
an unprecedented cultural intervention in terms of creative innovation;
cross-sector collaboration and value; and sheer scale of participation.
The research programme –Crossing Boundaries: The value of museums in
dementia care
<http://iccliverpool.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Crossing-Boundaries-Research-Summary-February-2016.pdf>–
represents a long-term collaboration between the ICC and NML, including
successive research evaluation commissions completed since 2013.

In seeking to build a critical and comprehensive evidence base on the
impact of/House of Memories/, ‘Crossing Boundaries’ has been designed to
investigate the holistic value of the intervention, including its impact
upon cross-sector professional learning, development and capacity
building; the subjective wellbeing of participating dementia carers,
people with dementia and the subsequent culture of care in relevant
services; and the meta-level social value and return on investment for
key stakeholders and funding bodies. Other objectives include knowledge
exchange with relevant professional communities on modelling responsive,
culture-led interventions in priority public health and social policy
agendas.

Informal enquiries may be made to Kerry Wilson, Head of Research at the
ICC:(k.m.wilson /at/ ljmu.ac.uk) <mailto:(k.m.wilson /at/ ljmu.ac.uk)>
