Thu Mar 17 21:58:07 GMT 2016

*FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS*

*IV INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LINGUISTICS, LITERATURE AND CULTURAL
STUDIES IN MODERN LANGUAGES (CILLEC)*

*/Multi-perspective approaches to changes and transitions within the
fields of linguistics, bilingualism, literature and culture/*

*//*

Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM)

15th and 16th September, 2016

“There is a difference between changes and transitions. Change is
situational; transition is psychological (Quick, Fetsch & Rupured
2011). We are constantly subject to changes affecting different areas,
and it is in the process of coping with and adapting to those changes
that transitions take place. Linguistics, literature, and cultural
studies have also changed throughout time and, in addition, have
reflected and/or adapted to structural, social or paradigmatic changes
of the contexts in which they have developed. Similarly, within language
teaching, the implementation of bilingual teaching systems constitutes
one of the most important changes in the latest years, involving
educators, students, families and institutions in a process of
transition that still continues.

In the light of this scenario and following the success of the 2013,
2014 and 2015 conferences, we are pleased to announce the fourth edition
of the International Conference of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural
Studies (CILLEC) entitled “*Multi-perspective approaches to changes and
transitions within the fields of linguistics, bilingualism, literature
and culture*, to be held at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) on
*15^th and 16^th September 2016*.

This fourth edition of CILLEC aims to look at the ways that languages,
literatures and cultures have shifted over the years, and how those
changes have worked as transitional tools that have inspired the
institution of rites of passage, or created the need for personal or
social transitions, relocations and reconfigurations. Studies on changes
and transitions affecting theoretical approaches, educational
frameworks, artistic creations and cultural movements will be relevant
for this edition. We will welcome contributions from all teachers,
researchers, postgraduate students and anyone interested in the topic of
the conference.**
