Cleveland State University is searching for active, culturally and
academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. The School of
Communication at Cleveland State University invites applications for a
tenure-track assistant professor position in interactive media
production starting August 22, 2016. Minimum requirement is an MFA or
Ph.D. in Interactive Media or a related field by July 1, 2016. Preferred
qualifications are excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to the
liberal arts and social sciences, an active production/scholarly agenda,
strong production skills, and an interest in connecting production
practice with film and media history and theory and the ability to
contribute through teaching, research, production, and/or service to the
diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
We seek a dynamic artist/scholar with a strong production/scholarship
record and proven effectiveness in teaching undergraduate students from
diverse backgrounds to help design and implement our new Interactive
Media track within the School of Communication’s Film-TV-Interactive
Media major. In addition to developing curriculum and teaching the
two-course interactive media production sequence, the ideal candidate
will be prepared to teach a range of courses in film and video
production as well as history, theory and/or media studies. Specific
areas of expertise may include video games, animation, video for the
web, special effects, social media and new media scholarship in addition
to the more traditional arenas of film and video. The normal teaching
load is five courses per academic year.

Minimum requirement is an MFA or Ph.D. in Interactive Media or a related
field by July 1, 2016. Preferred qualifications are the ability to
contribute through teaching, research, production, and/or service to the
diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic
community, excellence in teaching, a strong commitment to the liberal
arts and social sciences, an active production/scholarly agenda, strong
production skills, and an interest in connecting production practice
with film and media history.

Applications will be accepted exclusively online and should include a
letter of interest, a CV, examples of scholarly and creative work,
evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of recommendation.
Review of applications begins November 16, 2015 though the position will
remain open until filled. We are committed to developing our faculty to
