Fri Oct 02 04:02:32 GMT 2015

We are pleased to announce the publication of our latest ebook, 'THE LONDON FILM & MEDIA READER 3: The Pleasures of the Spectacle'. This is a bumper volume, comprising as many as 60 compact and readable essays based on Papers presented at 'FILM & MEDIA 2013: The Third Annual London Film & Media Conference'.

The Reader is made up of three main Parts - 'Texts', 'Identities', and 'Locations'. Special sections are devoted to essays on 'Sound and Image', 'Narrative', 'Ontologies', 'Extending Media Experience', 'Forms of Media Pleasure', 'Psychic Encounters', 'Femininities', 'Queerdom', 'Religious Identities', 'Mediated Cities', 'Narratives of Nationhood', 'Cultural Memory', and 'Scenarios of Conflict'.

With contributors drawn from nearly two dozen countries, this wide-ranging volume of some 678 pages provides a fascinating panorama of global Film and Media research in recent times. It is published as a PDF ebook, fully bookmarked for ease of navigation in Adobe.

The ebook is for download only from the conference website at www.thelondonfilmandmediaconference.com. A donation of £10.00 is suggested via PayPal - a bargain in the era of spiralling book prices. All six Conference Readers published so far are offered at a discounted donation level of £50.00.

The site also contains an Advance Notice for our forthcoming event 'FILM & MEDIA 2016: The Fifth Annual London Film & Media Conference - Questions of Cultural Value', to take place in Central London on 7-9 July 2016.

With all best wishes,
Sincerely,

Phillip Drummond,
Series Editor,
The London Symposium.
