central London location.

The University is in the top five per cent of universities in the world
according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and
attracts around 19,500 students (35% at postgraduate level) from 150
countries. It is well above the sector average for graduate prospects in
most of its subjects and in the top ten in the UK for starting salaries.

In the recent Research Excellence Framework, City made a greater
improvement in research quality, per Funding Council research pound,
than any other UK university. 40% of its total academic staff are
producing research that is world-leading or internationally excellent.

The Department of Culture and Creative Industries provides a rich and
thriving academic environment in which to study one of the
fastest-growing sectors of the global economy. The Department
undertakes world-leading research into many aspects of the international
creative economy and regularly advises organisations such as UNESCO and
the Department of Culture, Media and Sport on matters of cultural policy.

To support its expansion, the Department is seeking to appoint an
outstanding academic to a Lectureship in Culture and Creative
Industries. The appointed individual will demonstrate existing or
emerging world-leading or internationally excellent research and the
ability to educate and supervise at undergraduate and postgraduate

policy, critical management studies, cultural studies, intellectual
property rights, media audiences and the sociology of culture.
Professional experience in one or more of these areas will be an advantage.
