A reminder that VLV’s Spring Conference takes**place next Tuesday 2 June.

  * Students only pay £15 on the day on presentation of a Student ID.
  * If your institution is a member you pay only £35

*What next for Public Service Broadcasting?*

VLV’s 32nd Annual Spring Conference

Tuesday 2 June 2015

10.30 am – 3.45 pm

We do hope you will be able to join us – as VLV chairman *Colin Browne*
said: ‘Broadcasting is entering another period of radical change, driven
by market, technological and political considerations. This conference
will give us an early opportunity to take stock following the General
Election.’

Here’s our line up of speakers:

·*James Harding,*BBC Director for news and current affairs will talk
about the future of news, chaired by *Robin Lustig *

·*Peter Fincham,*Director of Television at ITV will speak about public
service broadcasting from their eye line, chaired  by *Torin Douglas*

·*Siobhan Kenny*, Chief Executive of the RadioCentre will talk about
what next for radio, with writer and broadcaster *Trevor Dann*, chaired
by *Gillian Reynolds*

·*Steve Hewlett*chairs a panel including former BBC Trustee *Richard
Tait* and media analyst *Claire Enders* looking at the implications of
the general election results for public service broadcasting.

Additionally *VLV’s Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting 2014* will be
presented by *James Naughtie, *who of course has been an award winner
himself.  In addition to the television and radio awards there is a
special award for someone who has made a major contribution to public
service broadcasting over many years.

The conference will be followed by a VLV Member’s Forum.
