[ecrea] faculty position in Media & Communication Studies at JWU in Rhode Island

Assistant Professor-Media & Communication Studies


The English Department, which houses the Media & Communication Studies major, and the John Hazen White College of Arts & Sciences is accepting applications for an assistant professor. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and teaching dynamic offerings that will help students apply communication theory to twenty-first century careers. Desired areas of specialization include journalism, creative writing, media production, digital culture or a related field. The successful candidate will teach first-year composition, communication skills and other courses that align with the department’s needs.


Required Qualifications:

Minimum of a PhD, MFA or terminal degree in English, writing, communication, media studies, or a related field of study;

Commitment to ongoing professional development.



Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with teaching at the collegiate level
