[ecrea] Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies -- call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie action applications

Wed May 13 21:50:23 GMT 2015

The Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies
(JOMEC),**ranked 2nd in the UK in REF2014 for the quality of its
research, invites expressions of interest from talented researchers who
are *currently outside the UK *to come and carry out research at JOMEC
(host institution) as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions -
Individual fellowships (IF) programme.

The School has 19 research active staff clustered across five research
groups: ‘/Journalism Studies’, /‘/Mediatised Conflict’,/ ‘/Race,
Representation and Cultural Politics’/, ‘/Risk, Science, Health and
Media’/ and ‘/Digital Media and Society/’.

Individual researchers submit proposals for funding in liaison with
their JOMEC Supervisor. Proposals are judged on their research quality,
the researcher's future career prospects, and the support offered by the
host organisation.

A few key points:

  * researchers can spend part of the fellowship elsewhere in Europe if
    this would boost impact;
  * the funding for the researcher is very generous and usually covers
    two years' salary, a mobility allowance and research costs;
  * the application form is short and easy (only 4 sections) and is
    written in liaison with their Supervisor at JOMEC.

Expressions of Interest must contain the following documentation and be
sent by email to Julie Jewell ((JewellJ2 /at/ cardiff.ac.uk)
<mailto:(JewellJ2 /at/ cardiff.ac.uk)>), the subject line should be /Marie
Curie Fellowships Applications 2015/:

  * Curriculum vitae
  * Project to be developed according to the form of the REA
  * Indication of the subject area for which the candidate is applying

    Important Dates:

  * Deadline for Expression of Interest Application: June 15 2015, 17:00
  * Deadline for final submission: September 9 2015, 17:00 (Brussels
    local time)
