Dear Colleagues: kindly find below a call for application for 2 opening
positions in communication and don't hesitate to forward in your networks.

As part of a major expansion of its research programs in Communication,
the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa invites applications for
two tenure-track faculty positions;  one in *Public Relations *and the
second in *International Communication and Digital Media*.

*Title of the positions*: Assistant Professor
*Duties*: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in
varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities
revealed by research or professional work; c) academic service
activities; d) supervision of graduate students.
*Terms*: Tenure-track position
*Salary*:  The salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $77,379.00
*Benefits package*: The University of Ottawa provides a complete
compensation package which includes long term disability, basic group
life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa
Pension Plan and optional life insurance.

*# 1 Public Relations*
*Skill requirements:*
• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a
related field.
• Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed
publications in Public Relations or Marketing Communication.
• Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of theories in Public
Relations and/or Marketing Communication.
• Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program
relating to the digital ecosystem.
• Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time
of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official
language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is
required in order to receive tenure
• Experience in teaching preferred.
• Experience supervising masters and doctoral students would be an asset.

*# 2 International Communication and Digital Media.*
*Skill Requirements:*
• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Communication (preferred) or in a
related field.
• Candidates must have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed
publications in International Communication and Digital Media.
• Candidates must have an excellent knowledge of contemporary approaches
in International Communication as well as Digital Media.
• Preference will be given to candidates developing a research program
that relates to globalization in media ecosystems and digital platforms.
• Preference will be given to candidates using quantitative methods in
their research program.
• Candidates must be able to teach in English or in French at the time
of hire and must possess a passive understanding of the other official
language. Active bilingualism at the time of hire is an asset and is
required in order to receive tenure
• Experience in teaching preferred.
• Experience supervising masters and doctoral students would be an asset.
