TT position in French Business Communication at the University of Antwer

*Your role *
·You will teach professional and academic communication in French within
the Faculty of Applied Economic Sciences, in the Master of Multilingual
Professional Communication or in another faculty of the University of
Antwerp;
·You will do research in the field of professional and academic
communication and contribute to the research program of the Institute
for Professional and Academic Communication (IPAC);
·You will supervise master’s theses;
·You will attract and manage research funding;
·Other tasks will include attending meetings and open days;
·You will coordinate the teaching and research activities of the French
section within IPAC.

*Your profile *
·You have a doctorate in French linguistics/literature, in translation
studies or equivalent;
·You have several years of post-doctoral experience or equivalent;
·You have an excellent command of French (at least near-native);
·You have demonstrable affinity with the field of French for Specific
Purposes and French for Academic Purposes;
·You have a clear vision of what is needed in terms of teaching,
research and how they can be combined in the courses of ‘French for
Business & Economics’ (bachelor) and ‘Professional Communication in
French (master). To this end you should include with your application a
text of 1000 words (max.) in French setting out your vision;
·Your teaching is in line with the vision of the University of Antwerp;
·Your research qualities lie within the research policy of the University;
·You possess (potential) leadership qualities;
·You are focussed on quality, integrity, creativity & teamwork;
·You meet the legal language requirements regarding the language of
instruction, French, and the language of administration, Dutch. The
University of Antwerp will provide the necessary support.

*We offer *
·Either an appointment at the rank of /docent/, tenure-track for 5
years. This period will lead directly to a tenured appointment to the
rank of /hoofddocent/, if the university management finds your
performance satisfactory on the basis of criteria announced in advance;
·Or a full-time position at the rank of /hoofddocent/ or senior, which
in principle will lead to a permanent appointment. If it is a
first professorial appointment, the university may offer an initial
temporary appointment of three years (max.). This period would lead
directly to a tenured appointment if the university management finds
your performance satisfactory;
·The starting date is *1 October 2015*;
·The gross monthly salary of a full-time /docent/ varies from €4009.52
to €5910.19; and of a full-time /hoofddocent/ from €4591.43 to 
€7213.07;
·A dynamic and stimulating working environment.

*How to apply? *

·There will be a preselection on the basis of the applications
submitted; the selection procedure has a functional focus and is set out
by a selection committee;
·The preselected candidates will be invited to interview on *27 May
2015*, during which they will also have to outline their current
research and give a mock lesson. We recommend that you make yourself
available for the whole day.
