Net Children 2020 – Growing up with Digital Media

Conference on Challenges and Solutions
for Media Education and Child Protection in Europe

16–17 April 2015

Ellington Hotel Berlin, Nürnberger Straße 50-55, 10789 Berlin, Germany

hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior
Citizens, Women and Youth in cooperation with the Hans Bredow Institute
for Media Research

What should the Internet for children look like in 2020? What skills do
they need to be smart, resilient and confident online?

Digital media pose new challenges to children in their roles as users
needing protection, as consumers and as responsible citizens of the
future. The “Net Children 2020” conference aims to identify options that
support children’s development in their varying roles.

The event will enable the exchange of the latest research insights and
will present best practices from across Europe. Internationally renowned
experts and practitioners will debate options of how politics, industry,
media education and NGOs can support children in their range of roles.
The findings of the conference will result in a jointly developed “Net
Children 2020” roadmap.

Participate in what will be a ground-breaking effort in identifying
future opportunities and challenges for children online and save the
dates 16–17 April 2015 right now!

Yours sincerely

Felix Barckhausen
Head of Division 503, German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior
Citizens, Women and Youth

Prof. Dr. Uwe Hasebrink
