[ecrea] 3rd International Conference on Gender and Communication

The *3^rd  International Conference on Gender and Communication *will be
celebrated on April 7^th  and 8^th , 2016, at the School of
Communication of the University of Seville, Spain. This event will
explore the importance of media as a tool for public education teaching
respect for gender equality and gender identity diversity.

This conference intends to be an international forum for the analysis of
gender identity construction and its meaning within different cultures.
With panels and presentations in both Spanish and English, it will
represent a unique opportunity to establish contacts with other
researchers and open new projects. The conference has also been
scheduled in April in Seville since this month also offers a wide
programme of cultural, artistic and anthropological activities.

*Communication papers exploring the following themes may be presented*:

1. Gender identity representation in any type of media format.

2. Analysis of discourses on gender identity in media and in other
communication contexts (social networks, educational systems, etc).

3. Child and youth education in gender equality through media communication.

4. Gender violence prevention and management through education and
communication.

5. Critiques of the realities and representations of gender roles in the
spheres of professional, social, economic and social relations.

6. The contribution of women in technology, economy, and the sciences.

7. Anthropological and philosophical studies on gender identity in
different cultures.

8. Women in public spaces and women’s initiatives in defence of
her/their rights.

9. New models of masculinity.

*Communication/paper proposals (abstracts) can be submitted **until
January 31, 2016.*

Those researchers who are interested in presenting proposals of
communication/papers, workshops, panels and research projects results
