1st Thinkers’ Summit of Translingual Communication on Life: Data, Symbol
and Wisdom

China

9th-10th January, 2016

Call for Papers

I. The Summit

The 1st Thinkers’ Summit of Translingual Communication on Life: Data,
Symbol and Wisdom is a grand interdisciplinary event bringing together
thinkers and philosophers, researchers and scholars, specialists and
experts on Technology, New Media, Communication Philosophy, Aesthetics,
Linguistic Philosophy, History, Economics, International Relations,
Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, even Physics and Neurosciences.
Though includes many spheres, it puts strong emphasis on the reflection
on human life. In other words, the Summit is about the translingual
discussion on the sublimation of life in everyday life.

II. Summit Objective

By the forces of the Internet and a variety of artificial intelligence
tools, the world becomes a global village as it getting smaller in the
21st century. The exponential growth and the integration of technology,
media and telecom (TMT) provide infinite imagination to where mankind
and our society can go. The problems we encounter are becoming more
complex and diverse. With the development of TMT, “all connected” and
“fast iteration” have brought the wild imagination to human development
and the possibility to the deconstruction and reconstruction of social
relations and social structure in the process of communication. Human
language and machine language are mixed together, the issues concerning
our society, economy, politics, science, philosophy, religion, culture,
and our own life are mutually blended and deeply interpenetrated,
different disciplines are integrated to be innovative, on these basis,
“Translingual Communication on Life” has become an unavoidable issue in
the process of social transformation.

Humanity is moving towards more rationality and freedom. Information age
provides us a possibility for better understanding and development of
our own. Life itself is a communication process. Translingual
communication is to look for the true meaning of life within time, data
and symbol, in this way, mutual wisdom can be communicated, triggered,
and promoted in everyday

life, can the world becomes a truly spiritual organism, a living
organism, can the mutual recognition be formed to provide more valuable
ideas to the social development in all areas. The greatest thing about
the Internet is that a line of escape (Gilles Deleuze’s philosophical
concept) can be drawn as an indispensable touch in a differentiated and
diversified picture, and the line drawn provides a possibility to change
by action in communication.

The summit aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and
research, to find and promote or introduce some original, innovative,
monumental project, to discuss issues concerning the development of
mankind, so as to make contribution to the progress of our time.
