[ecrea] Call for Chapters - Edited Collection: Heidegger and Media (2016)
Tue Aug 18 17:03:01 GMT 2015
*Call for Chapters*
Even if not referenced directly, Martin Heidegger is a philosopher whose
work is pervasive in nearly all media related academic literatures.
Whether these investigations center technological development, media
practices, textual analysis, or overtly embark with a political
dimension, Heideggerâs influence is omnipresent. As such, this edited
volume seeks to not only reveal the significant role Heidegger
subliminally plays in several strands of media studies, but also
elucidate new paths one can take by employing an explicit Heideggerian
lens.
Specifically this book will develop Heideggerâs concepts to explore our
current technological context and, although this book will predominantly
be marketed for a media studies audience, we invite submissions that
embrace a variety of subject matter.
Below is a short list of Heideggerian concepts and subjects that weâd
like to explore.
