Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism Research Studentship

The Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism invites applications for a doctoral Research Studentship to commence in October 2014. Applications can be made to undertake doctoral studies in a topic relevant to one of the main themes of the Centre:

·         Legal Restraints on the Media

·         Transformations in Media Policy

·         Journalism and Human Rights

·         Media, Journalism and Criminal Justice

·         Media Justice

Value of the Award and Eligibility

The studentship is available to both UK/EU and overseas students who will be studying full-time.

The Studentship provides an annual bursary of £15,000 plus a full tuition fee waiver

Continuation of the award after the first year is subject to confirmation of satisfactory progress. Studentship holders are expected to undertake some teaching support activity as part of the bursary arrangements. Training will be provided to support any teaching activity. The University provides a broad research and enterprise development programme to support the development of research skills.

Applicants are assessed on the basis of their research excellence or demonstrable potential and the quality of their research proposal.
