[ecrea] CfP - Sexualities 8: (de)construction - (re)presentation

Let us invite you to the 8th International Scientific Conference 
SEXUALITIES which will be held in Olomouc, the Czech Republic, on 9th -- 
11th October 2014.

The conference will be focused on (de)constructions and 
(re)presentations of sexuality (and gender). We suggest to think of the 
topic of sexualities in a wide variety of its aspects and approaches. 
The conference welcomes contributions that will (de)construct 
sexualities in their historical, institutional, local and political 
dimensions and (re)presentations, as well as those that will critically 
consider the ways in which different disciplines or research approaches 
(re)produce sexualities.

We would also like to highlight the section focused on media and 
popculture. This particular program block was sadly overlooked in the 
past. This year we would like to change the position of popculture and 
media studies in the debate about (de)construction and (re)presentation 
of gender and sexuality.

We are also delighted to announce that one of the key-note speeches will 
be held by prof. Jeffrey Weeks. And from the field of studies in popular 
culture, dr. Janet McCabe accepted our invitation. Other interesting 
guests of the conference are still in negotiation.

We encourage scholars from various fields that approach the topic of 
sexualities to apply for the conference and submit the abstract. The 
deadline for the submission is July 15, 2014. More information about the
