[ecrea] New book: Making News at the New York Times
Tue May 06 22:39:58 GMT 2014
I'm proud to announce the publication of my book, Making News at The New
York Times. It's a true ethnographic portrait of The Times based on 700
hours of field work over five months - and traces web v. print, the
immediacy of the online web page, business issues, social media
questions, and the rise of interactivity and multimedia at the
newspaper. It gives you a real sense of how journalists actually work
each day at the newspaper through narrative accounts, and goes deep into
the heart of Page One meetings and news decision-making. It's readable
for students and those in practice, but offers a clear argument about
the newsroom in a state of change.
I invite you to take a look at the Amazon link and the University of
Michigan press release.
