Call for Editorial Board Members

The Yearbook of Moving Image Studies (YoMIS) is now seeking for scientists,
scholars, artists and film makers interested in working on our Editorial
Board. The goal of YoMIS is to reflect, trigger and collect the academic,
intellectual and artistic dimension of the moving image in an international
perspective. YoMIS will be enriched by disciplines like media and film
studies, image science, (film) philosophy, art history, game studies and
other research areas related to the moving image in general. The first
issue is entitled "Cyborgian Pictures: The moving image between apparatus
and body" and addresses the broad field of the relationship between the
technological dimension of the medium, its aesthetic and structural impact
on the representational status of the moving image and the effect on the
bodily level of the recipient, including affective and somatic reactions.

YoMIS is intended to be a double blind peer-reviewed interdisciplinary
publication aimed at an international academic readership, and therefore an
innovative quality publication with a high level of international
expertise. Realised as a unique eBook with an annual presence it is
supported by an international scientific marketing. In this perspective
YoMIS is a premium publication conceptualized and managed by the founders
and administration board of the research group moving image science in
Kiel, Germany (www.bewegtbildwissenschaft.de).

The board members give significant feedback about the quality of
submissions and contribution to the academic and intellectual field.
Reviewers are expected to write reviews in due time, helpful and
constructive characteristic. Members must have outstanding qualities in the
academic field, art or film making. A doctorate, significant publishing and
reviewing experience, or excellent skills and experience in the relevant
field of artistic work, are welcome.

Advantages: Board members names will be listed in YoMIS and in the website
of the research group moving image science. Members get the privilege to
name the board membership of YoMIS as one of their professional activities.
Members will be given preference concerning the publishing of articles or
reviews in YoMIS. The impact of YoMIS is enhanced by the annual conference
moving images (Bewegtbilder) taking place at the University of Applied
Science Kiel, Germany. All board members are free to submit abstracts for
the conference and present results of academic research or artistic work.
