Gospel Message in Media
Facilitators: Terézia Roncáková, Rastislav Dluhý

During the upsurge of mass-media in the 20th Century, the Church constantly searched for ways of using this „wonderful means“ to fulfill its fundamental mission. Communicators active in the ecclesial and media world have gradually acquired experience and altered their previous over-optimistic aims. However there still remain questions about what possibilities the media have for evangelistic outreach and in what ways the Gospel can be conveyed by the media. In addition, there is still much media bias towards the world of religion and vice versa.
Religious Linguistic Style
Facilitators: Jozef Mlacek, Pavel Izrael

The various forms of religious communication include homiletics, liturgy, prayer, official ecclesial documents and religious literature and publications. In the Slovak arena of the science of linguistics, an interesting disscussion has been going on about this sphere of communication: its styles, substyles and intermediate categories and their variety of stylisticaly significant characteristics.
Launch social networks! Cast your nets for a catch!
Facilitators: Imrich Gazda, Peter Kravcák

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. Today the influence of social networks is everywhere. Evangelization and pastoral work in the digital world have become one of our biggest challenges. Popes Francis and Benedict XVI not only devoted some of their messages on World Days of Communication to these means but they also started actively using Twitter. Evangelizing the digital continent is now a part of the ministry not only of lay believers but also of some Cardinals. How can we implement Jesus’ call to "cast our nets for a catch?" on the Internet?
