Two academic positions in Political Communication Research, Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen (Germany)

Zeppelin University (ZU) in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is a state-recognized endowment university, accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities, and bridging business, culture and politics. It is committed to interdisciplinarity, internationality and individuality in research and teaching with its 14 accredited and top-ranking bachelor, master, and doctoral programs in business, culture and social sciences. As a player in civil society, ZU exerts its impact especially in social innovations in and for society.

The Chair of Political Communication and the “Research Centre on Political Communication” at the Institute of Family Business&  Entrepreneurship, led by Prof. Dr. Markus Rhomberg, opens
+ a full-time academic position (m/f)
+ a part-time academic position (m/f)

starting as soon as possible with an initial 3-years appointment and a possibility of an extension.

The positions will focus on:
+ Obtaining a doctoral degree or a postdoctoral lecturer qualification (Habilitation) in accordance with the research areas and priorities of the Chair of Political Communication
+ Development and coordination of research projects
+ National and international publications, as well as participation in conferences
+ Academic teaching
+ Student counselling and academic advising
+ Administrative tasks

Requirements:
+ Excellent master degree or doctorate in communication studies, political sciences or adjacent disciplines with a focus in social sciences, preferably in political communication or science communication
+ Excellent knowledge of communication theories
+ Excellent knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and their application
+ Fluency in English and willingness to learn German
+ High level of commitment and excellent team-working skills
+ Accuracy and reliability at work

The Chair of Political Communication at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Chair’s focus lies on the analysis of the structure of public debates (climate-, energy-, infrastructure-, social, corporate and cultural policies) that affect the political decision-making process. Regarding the academic teaching, the Department is in charge for communication sciences for both undergraduate and graduate programmes, particularly such disciplines as political communication and scientific communication.
