Demonstrator in Television Journalism                                               Ref: MED436

The Media School at Bournemouth University is seeking highly talented, enthusiastic and motivated people to join its Journalism and Communication (J&C) academic group.  Under the direction of the Head of Academic group, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of the demonstration of technical television journalism skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students on its BJTC – accredited multi media journalism programmes. This is likely to incorporate the demonstration of TV editing, filming and sound skills as well as video online and documentary.

With a relevant first degree, you will have an understanding of newsroom and studio workflows and of converged news environments. You will also be expected to use your relevant professional experience to support the activities of the Academic Group in the areas of enterprise and professional practice.

Lecturer in Scriptwriting (Part-time)                                        Ref: MED438

The Media School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer to contribute to the teaching of Scriptwriting.  You will bring current industry expertise and knowledge, as well as an ability to communicate and enthuse students.

You will play an important role in our scriptwriting team, contributing to the highly successful BA (Hons) Scriptwriting for Film and Television as well as our postgraduate courses in Scriptwriting. You will also be qualified to Doctoral level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from date of appointment as well as playing a key role in the development of professional practice within the Media Production Academic group.

This post is available part-time for 0.5 FTE.

The Media School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer to contribute to the teaching, research and professional practice of digital media within the Media Production academic group. Successful candidates will bring current cross-platform industry expertise and knowledge, as well as the capacity to communicate and enthuse students.  You will be qualified to Doctoral level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from date of appointment.

You will play an important role in our programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, contributing to the teaching of theory and practice – fusing these elements together into a holistic experience for students. You will be confident in teaching traditionally academic and theoretical components as well as professional practice of digital media.
