The School of Media, Film and Music is seeking to make four new 
appointments to join its

high ranking Department of Media and Film:

Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Media and Ref: 035

Communication /News media

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Media and Ref: 036

Communication /Global Communications

Candidates will be able to teach in specialist areas of news media, 
international journalism

and the public sphere, and/or global communications, as well as 
contribute to core

teaching in media and communication studies. They will have an excellent 
research

profile, the ability to work in partnership with both academic and 
non-academic

colleagues, and knowledge of new developments in media, journalism and 
digital media.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Filmmaking Ref: 037

Candidates will have an established research record and international 
profile, primarily in

creative practice, and a proven interest in the integration of theory 
and practice. They will

be able to teach modules in feature film production, and also be able to 
teach

documentary filmmaking. They will have experience of teaching at 
undergraduate and

taught postgraduate levels, and be able to supervise practice based 
doctoral students.

Media Production Tutor: Broadcast/ Ref: 038

Multimedia Journalism (grade 7)

Candidates will possess a higher degree in a relevant area or equivalent 
scholarly or

relevant professional experience. They will have experience of 
professional working in

Journalism environments and teaching experience at least to 
undergraduate level. The

main roles will involve practice based teaching in broadcast and/or 
multimedia journalism

at undergraduate and taught postgraduate level, and providing on-going 
support to

students in the above areas. The postholder will also be involved in 
liaison with external

bodies and partners.

Salary ranges:

Production tutor: £30,424 to £36,298 per annum

Lecturer B: £37,382 to £44,607 per annum

Senior Lecturer: £45,941 to £52,233 per annum

Expected start date for all posts: 1 September 2013
