[ecrea] NCCR Democracy invites applications for two Ph.D. positions

Ph.D. student (100%) in NCCR project "Populist strategies in current election campaigns"

The project will study the communication and mobilization strategies of political parties in national election campaigns in six European countries, under the direction of Prof. Hanspeter Kriesi (European University Institute), Prof. Marco Steenbergen (UZH) and Dr. Laurent Bernhard (UZH). Candidates should be interested in comparative politics, electoral research and politicial communication and have had methodological training. They must have an MA degree in political science or in a closely related field, and need to be fluent in English and at least two other language of interest (German, French, Dutch).

Ph.D. student (100%) in NCCR project "Populism and national political cultures"

The project investigates the long-term cultural roots of populism and the relationship between national political cultures and the development of populism in Europe, under the direction of Prof. Daniele Caramani (University of St Gallen). Candidates must have completed an MA degree in political science and have expertise in comparative politics, electoral research, political communication and have had methodological training. Fluency in English as well as in German and Italian is required.
