[ecrea] Media and Communication on Europe - deadline approaching

CALL FOR PAPERS
MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION ON EUROPE
Edited by: Agnieszka Stepinska (University of Adam Mickiewicz, Poznan, Poland)
Proposals are invited for a collection that examines the visibility of the
EU-related isssues and events, the news agenda, and the role played by
national and international news organizations in covering the EU events. Both,
single-country case studies and international comparative studies are invited.
Potential topics include (but are not limited to):
media coverage of the breaking points of the EU history (the EU enlargements,
introducing a common currency, or introducting the EU Constitution),
media coverage of the major EU events (European Parliamentary elections or the
European Union Council's summits) ,
media coverage of the country's Presidency of European Council ,
the EU communication and informations policy and strategies,
the EU media relations (communications with/ towards journalists/media),
government communication of the EU related issues ,
images of the European nations, national branding and media management,
public diplomacy and soft power of the European countries.
Guidelines for proposals:
Proposals should be between 500-1000 words. They should be sent via email to:

Applicants should also send a short bio indicating title, affiliation, and
scholarly interests.
The deadline for proposal submission is 15 March 2013.
Applicants will be notified of the selection process by 10 April 2013.
We need to receive the final draft of the paper by 1 September 2013. The paper
should be between 6000 and 8000 words and should be proofread by the authors.
We will be more precise about the guidelines for papers once we receive
specific information by the publishers. The book will be published in English.
